Outdoor spaces are more than landscapes; they are extensions of the architecture around them. Completed while studying under Nievera Williams, this retractable awning was designed for a historic home to create a seamless transition between traditional character and modern function.
Building on the original design concept, this completed view shows the awning integrated into the finished hardscape and softscape. Following approval from the Landmarks Committee, I oversaw construction through completion, ensuring the new elements complemented the historic architecture without overpowering it.
